Alternative display protocols

There are a couple of other mainstream desktop protocols available on the market, some that work with VMware Horizon, and others that are used by Horizon's competitors. The main protocols available today are Microsoft Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) and Citrix Independent Computing Architecture (ICA). These are described in the following sections.
